Gut Cancer Foundation has begun work on a series of videos that aim to help support patients and their whānau as they navigate a cancer diagnosis.
There will be five videos in total in a series called Living with Cancer. We will talk to patients, whānau and members of the medical community to create videos on how to look after yourself while going through treatment, diet & nutrition support, resilience while navigating cancer, tips on navigating the medical system and how to support someone navigating a cancer diagnosis.
The first video features Trish Thomson on her perspective as the partner of someone with cancer. Her husband Greg was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer over ten years ago, and Trish has some really good insight on how she supported him and took care of herself so she could be there for him. We are very grateful to Pelorus Trust and Pub Charity for funding this work.
